Born 1968 Turku, Finland
Vesa-Pekka Rannikko is a highly versatile artist who works with sculpture, animated drawing, painting, video art, installation, and photography.. Rannikko’s art has been featured in various solo and group exhibitions and video art festivals both in Finland and internationally. Rannikko represented Finland in the Venice Biennale in 2011. He has made several large-scale public works, the most recent of which were commissioned by the cities of Vantaa and Espoo. His works are included in many important domestic and international collections, such as the collections of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, the Helsinki City Art Museum, Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation, and the Saastamoinen Foundation.
